Smallfat's Note: I apologize for the inaccurate "fact" earlier today. I guess I should start checking for the accuracy of my RFs before I post them... to compensate, here are two more random facts for today. One to cancel out the previously posted random lie, and one for today:
The citrus soda 7-UP was created in 1929; "7" was selected because the original containers were 7 ounces. "UP" indicated the direction of the bubbles.
Dirty snow melts faster than white snow because it's darker and absorbs more heat.

And regarding the dirty snow melting faster:
It's true. Much like a piece of wood painted white will be cooler than one painted black. Black is the colour it is because it absorbs all wavelengths of light. Where as white, reflects all wavelengths of light. So, dirty snow (say.. brown), will absorb more wavelengths of light than clean (white) snow.
are you saying that brown things are dirty? oh wait.. i was gonna be insulted, and then i changed my mind. :)
but yeah, stop making my blog nerdy and unfun.. you're making me look stupid. the entire point of the RFotD was to show off all my knowledge. not to draw attention to my lack thereof.
actually, i take it back. i like the comments. keep commenting. it's more fun that way. even if you're a nerd. at least i can make fun of your nerdiness. if you didnt say anything, i wouldnt have anything to make fun of you about.
