I Don't Wanna Live Without You -- Chicago
Thought it wouldn't matter
If we didn't stay together
And if it was over
Baby, it was for the better
I was thinking I'd be all right
'Til I thought it all through
Now I know that I ain't really living
If I have to live without you
*
I don't wanna live without your love
I don't wanna face the night alone
I could never make it through my life
If I had to make it on my own
I don't wanna love nobody else
I don't wanna find somebody new
I don't wanna live without your love
I just wanna live my life with you
With you...
*
Guess I had to go away
So much I had to go through
Guess I had to lose you
To realize how much I love you
Can we make the fires burn again
Burn a little stronger
'Cause I've been alone, and baby
I can't be alone any longer
*
I don't wanna live without your love
I don't wanna face the night alone
I could never make it through my life
If I had to make it on my own
I don't wanna love nobody else
I don't wanna find somebody new
I don't wanna live without your love
I just wanna live my life with you
With you...
*
If I had to make it on my own
My life would never be the same
My love would never be the same
And I don't wanna live without your love
I don't wanna live without your love (I don't wanna live)
I don't wanna face the night alone
I could never make it through my life
If I had to make it on my own
I don't wanna love nobody else (Don't wanna love nobody else)
I don't wanna find somebody new
I don't wanna live without your love
I just wanna live my life with you (Live my life with you)
With you...

He Replied!!!!!
Remember that letter I wrote to my English prof? Well, he finally replied!!!
***
Dear Shraddha,
Please forgive the long delay in replying to your letter; I've been in and out of town and falling behind as I enjoy the delights of summer.
I was delighted and touched by your letter; I'm glad to know that you enjoyed English 260 and took the opportunity to see "Man and Superman" at the Shaw. I went, too, for one of the complete performances: I had never seen the whole thing, and was amazed to see how well it holds the stage when talented actors know what to do with it. I have seldom had such an enjoyable time in the theatre, and the six hours from beginning to end flew by. It helped, of course, that I was with friends and that we had a lunch break!
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and good luck in the coming year.
Best wishes,
Edward Lobb

Not That Different
This was one of my favourite songs when I was, like, 13. I came across the CD today..
Not That Different
(Karen Taylor-Good/Joie Scott)
She said we're much too different
We're from two separate worlds
And he admitted she was partly right
But in his heart's defense he told her
What they had in common
Was strong enough to bond them for life
He said look behind your own soul
And the person that you'll see
Just might remind you of me
*
I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you
*
She could hardly argue
With his pure and simple logic
But logic never could convince a heart
She had always dreamed of loving
Someone more exotic
And he just didn't seem to fit the part
So she searched for greener pastures
But never could forget
What he whispered when she left
*
I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you
*
Was it time? Or was it truth?
Maybe both lead her back to his door
As her tears fell at his feet
She didn't say "I love you"
What she said meant even more
*
I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you
*
*tear*

I Love Drunk People
"I'm way drunk. I'm about to pass out on my bed. And yet, the only thing running through my mind right now is a conversation I had with my friend Brad. He told me that the next time he gets a blow job, he wants to have two plungers with him... he wants to put them over each ear of the girl and plunge away while she services him. You see, he wants to get the maximum amount of suction possible out of her. "

Pop Quiz
You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last five Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz.. See how you do on this one:
1. List five teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of three people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.
Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.
Dubya
By now, most of you have probably come across the story about the CIA asking Bush to discontinue his blog. Obviously, the instinctive reaction (or at least MY instinctive reaction) would be to click on the URL, and see if the mentioned blog actually exists. Some clever kid found that it didnt, and so decided to create one.
Hee hee.

On Blogging... A Rant
So, blogging... Yes, I'll admit, I'm an addict. There is nothing like browsing blogs when you're looking for way to waste time while trapped behind a desk, at work.. But I am starting to feel as though blogging has made me lose touch with people, as much as it is keeping me in touch with them. For example, my good friend L. He and I, when in high school, would email each other every night.. newsy emails of considerable length, talking about everything from our love lives, to social issues, to cadbury creme eggs.. after moving to our respective universities, the emailing gave way to nightly MSN conversations.. we'd spend hours discussing random happenings of the day.. the "pennies" of life.. now, I read his blog, and he (i THINK?!?) reads mine.. and our communication basically ends there. it's really quite sad. i havent seen him for ages... not since christmas... and although the breakdown of communication is largely my own fault, i miss him.
Blogs are interesting things. Browsing the "Recently Updated" section of Blogger proves that people use them for all sorts of reasons. There are those who blog to express opinions on anything that strikes their interest; those who blog as a means of release; those who blog to keep a record of their daily activities; those who blog to provide information; there are those who blog for pure entertainment; those who blog to track their progress towards a goal; those who blog to... i dont know... provide graphic descriptions of their sexual pursuits? While some are just... bizarre... most blogs are fairly interesting to read. It's pretty neat to see what different people are experiencing; how different people think... and it's always nice to know that someone as far away as the UK or the Czech Republic is living through the day to day tedium of life.. just like you.
I've forgotten what my point was. Typical. Yet another problem with the "advance" of technology in communication.
